Clinical Lead Orthotist

      Opcare is looking to recruit a Clinical Lead Orthotist to head up the established Orthotic team of 5 orthotists within our newly awarded Leicester Contract.  This is a unique opportunity combining Patient Care, Clinical Team Development and some Operational Management.

      The Leicester service is based from the Specialist Mobility Centre in Leicester and provides outreach clinics to Hinckley, Melton Mowbray, Rutland, Loughborough and Market Harborough.

      The service has specialist input to the local hospital wards and diabetic foot clinics and selected schools.

      The successful applicants will lead an enthusiastic and skilled team providing in and outpatient services to a range of patients, some of whom have complex needs.  The services cover paediatric, trauma and orthopaedic, complex neuromuscular and diabetic clinics as well as general clinics.

      This position provides an ideal setting for an experienced clinician looking for a highly challenging and rewarding position, covering clinical expertise and interests in many areas of orthotic care.  The successful applicant will need to be capable of practising independently and have a focus on team development and motivation. They will join the management team within the Leicester service supported by onsite service managers, as well as regional and national senior management teams.

      The successful applicants will need to:

      • Be an Experienced Orthotist
      • Ideally, experienced in leading an Orthotic Team or a Senior who feels ready to step up
      • Have obtained a BSc in Prosthetics and Orthotics or other suitable appropriate qualifications;
      • Be registered with HCPC and ideally be a member of BAPO and/or ISPO;
      • Obtain enhanced DBS and PVG clearance;
      • Provide satisfactory references.
