      Job Summary:

      The role holder has management responsibility for overseeing the running of the orthotic clinical team on site in Exeter, as well as assessing and treating a complex range of patients, based on current best practice.

      You will manage the orthotic clinical team effectively, ensuring the service is running smoothly and efficiently whilst meeting all timescales along with clinical, operational and financial expectations set. You will also work closely with the administration teams, technical staff and management in order to achieve an efficient service.

      The successful applicant would have access to excellent technology in brand new facilities, designed to deliver services, including on site orthotic workshop with technical team.
      The orthotic service is wide ranging and includes interaction with MDTs across the Royal Devon and Exeter Trust and associated regional clinics.

      The successful applicant would have the support of onsite service manager (clinician), technical, facilities and admin management. In addition, as the largest provider of combined orthotic and prosthetic services in the UK, you would be a lead member of a national team of over 180 clinicians.

      This role would suit an experienced orthotist looking to take on more responsibility with managerial support.

      Required Qualifications:

      • HCPC certified prosthetist/orthotist
      • BSc Prosthetics & Orthotics, or HND Prosthetics & Orthotics

      You must also have DBS clearance

      Desirable
      • ISPO or BAPO membership
      • Full clean drivers licence

      Responsibilities & Tasks:

      • Responsible for line managing all orthotic clinical staff, including appraisals, organising training/development and implementing performance management processes.
      • Ensuring progress of referral pathways for orthotic patients enabling the organisation to achieve Referral to Treatment (RTT) targets, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
      • To lead by example and ensure the orthotic clinical team is engaged with, and motivated to achieve, any patient and business-led objectives in place.
      • To work closely with workshop staff, admin staff and the Orthotic Manager to deliver a smooth and efficient service.
      • Responsible for supporting senior management within EMC, in delivering continuous improvement to the centre and its patients.
      • Ensures the clinical team are achieving the objectives set by the business. When performance is not in line with the standards set, the Clinical Lead must ensure effective actions are being agreed and followed up to recover the position, working closely with the Clinical Services Manager.
      • Supports and motivates the clinical team, ensuring resources are fully utilised to achieve patient/customer/organisational requirements. This includes monitoring of the workload of clinical staff.
      • Assisting with resolving patient complaints, queries and concerns in a timely manner.
      • Responsible for reviewing HCPC registration for the clinical team to ensure that they are up-to-date, as well as ensuring CPD portfolios are accurately maintained.
      • Reports on clinical activity to senior management within the centre, and working closely with the Clinical Services Manager to resolve any issues in a timely manner.

      Skills & Personal Attributes:

      • Proven practical experience working successfully at a senior level as an orthotist.
      • Committed to the highest standards of patient care and practice in line with the role holders state registration e.g. HCPC.
      • Proven experience of motivating and working within high performing teams.
      • Excellent communication skills and ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships internally and externally.
