      Clinical Lead

      Job Summary:

      The role holder leads a clinical team in an Opcare centre, assessing clients / patients in conjunction with other members of the interdisciplinary team as appropriate. They ensure prosthetic treatment is provided based on best practice.

      They ensure the highest standards of clinical, operational, financial, and Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality governance within the centre. Ensuring that the centre both profitably and ethically achieves its goals, delivers clinical excellence, meets/exceeds KPIs and operates within financial budgets & targets. This ultimately allows us to deliver the best possible patient care and patient outcomes within the centre.

      Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

      • The clinical lead carries out the line management responsibilities of the clinical team in that centre. This includes appraisals, coaching and / or development requirements and performance management processes, working closely together with the Centre Manager (CM)
      • Leads by example and ensures the clinical team is engaged with the objectives / change processes required by the business
      • To advance the delivery of the prosthetic service by embracing evidence based medicine and the result of Clinical audit in line with the requirements of clinical governance
      • Review on a weekly basis the caseload of the clinical team to ensure that satisfactory progress is being made in providing prosthetic devices in compliance to the agreed time frame
      • Supports and motivates the clinical team, ensuring resources are fully utilised to achieve patient / customer / organisational requirements. This includes the monitoring of the workload of clinical staff

      Skills & Personal Attributes:

      The position requires the job holder to possess:-

      • Proven practical experience working successfully at a senior level as a Prosthetist
      • Committed to the highest standards of patient care and practice in line with the role holders state registration e.g. HCPC
      • Proven experience of motivating and working within high performing teams
      • Positive and proactive ’can-do’ attitude
      • Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships internally and externally
      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
      • Excellent attention to detail

      Qualifications:

      Either:

      • Certified Prosthetist
      • HND Prosthetics
      • BSc Prosthetics

      Must also be fully HCPC Registered.
