The Ability Matters Group (AMG) is a market leading international healthcare products and services provider, operating primarily in areas that enhance mobility and accessibility including orthotics, prosthetics and wheelchairs. We have in excess of 60 sites across the UK and Ireland, as well as operations in France, The Netherlands and Sweden; employing approximately 700+ staff.
This is an exciting opportunity for a management accountant based at our head office in Abingdon/working from home. The role will be a minimum 6 month fixed term contract working for a manufacturing business.
Some travel to our manufacturing site in Middlesbrough will be required.
To apply you must have previous experience of using SAGE and end to end management accounts.
To produce end to end management accounts which includes a monthly reporting pack including balance sheet
To maintain effective financial controls and legal compliance.
Support with statutory reporting and business improvement projects
Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
Production of month end management accounts in line with agreed time frames.
Ensuring effective management of accounting information held within the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
Ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are up to date with robust working papers and reconciling items are investigated and resolved.
Monitoring deviation from budget, investigating and commenting on variances.
Support in forecasting the cash flow requirements.
Ensuring authorisation processes and procedures are adhered to.
Support in the management of inventory to minimise working capital.
Ensuring accuracy of costing system, in terms of bills of materials, routes, times and recovery rates.
Ensuring procedures are in place such that outside agencies, including auditors, HMCE and Inland Revenue, are satisfied with both financial and legal compliance.
Supervision of VAT and Intrastat returns for HMRC.
Liaison with auditors to ensure effective production of statutory accounts.
Ensuring accuracy of stock recording through enforcement of procedures and effective stock counting.
Multi-currency Bank account management and reconciliations
Other ad-hoc projects as directed
