Manufacturing Operative

      The Ability Matters Group (AMG) is a market leading international healthcare products and services provider, operating primarily in areas that enhance mobility and accessibility including orthotics, prosthetics and wheelchairs. We have in excess of 60 sites across the UK and Ireland, as well as operations in France, The Netherlands and Sweden; employing approximately 700+ staff.

      We are currently seeking a manufacturing operative based at our Greencare service in Middlesbrough.

      Job Summary:

      Makes and assembles Wheelchairs & Wheelchair Accessories and Spares

      Key responsibilities and Duties:

      • Builds wheelchairs and associated components using approved build configuration
      • Assesses approved build configurations to ensure customer request is achievable
      • Works with Sales to update customer orders were necessary
      • Works with Sales to ensure Bill of Materials and stock usage are/is accurate
      • Inspects and is responsible for own work ensuring output matches customer expectation
      • Assembles spares and accessories for wheelchairs
      • Complies with and Strict Adherence to ISO standards and Record keeping
      • Effectively uses all formats to retrieve product and process information
      • Uses appropriate tools, maintaining and adhering to all company and regulatory safety policies
      • Visually inspects materials and tools during assembly process to prevent defects and scrap and adhere to safety polices
      • Maintains workspace and other areas in accordance with company and regulatory policies
      • Effectively utilises material replenishment systems to ensure oldest stock used first
      • Completes all required training as applicable to assigned position
      • Assists where necessary and appropriate with the training of others
      • Provides written suggestions for continuous improvement
      • Exhibits positivity, flexibility, creativity and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required


      • GCSE or equivalent to level 4 (old C grade) or above in English and Mathematics preferable
