We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Buyer to join our team in Birmingham

The Ability Matters Group (AMG) is a leading provider of prosthetics, orthotics, wheelchair services & products, serving the needs of more than 75,000 patients at 30 centres across the UK and Ireland.

Ortho Europe is the manufacturing arm of the Ability Matters Group. Ortho Europe, established in 1990, is a major European manufacturer and distributor of prosthetic and orthotic product. Headquartered in the UK, Ortho Europe also has offices in France and Netherlands and distributors across Europe and the rest of the World.

Job role summary

The Senior Buyer will report in to the Purchasing Manager, and support the purchasing team to achieve agreed cost, stock & supplier KPI’s. The role will primarily be focused on ensuring material & inventory availability, and a drive to identify sources of waste and added value opportunities.

What experience you will need:

• Previous experience of MRP
• Previous experience working within a supply chain role
• CIPS level 4 (minimum) is preferable
• Experience of working within the medical device industry and an understanding of ISO13485 preferable.
• Experience with working with suppliers to ensure service lead times are achieved
• Able to build and develop effective relationships, both internal & external with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience of inventory management
• Demonstrable ability to analyse, review and improve purchasing processes.
• Precise attention to detail and methodical approach to work
